Dnipro - Visit Ukraine NOW

I've just watched this video about my homecity Dnipro on Euronews! ^_^ It's like a smile of an old friend that you haven't seen for ages! I'm going there this weekend, btw, and I'm so anticipating this :) and this is a page promoting Ukraine http://banda.agency/ukrainenow/

Many blessings to all good people on this Autumnal Equinox!

Review: Black Man

Black Man by Richard K. Morgan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The book can be regarded as a prequel to the universe of Takeshi Kovac's trilogy. The near future of the Earth, where mankind is colonizing Mars, incidentally dealing with complex political problems and a moral crisis caused by changes in the human genome.

Review: Брама Європи. Історія України від скіфських воєн до незалежності

Брама Європи. Історія України від скіфських воєн до незалежності by Serhii Plokhy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Цікава книга, яка буде корисна тим, хто хоче освіжити свої знання з історії України (та уявити, як ця історія може виглядати з точки зору іноземців).

Review: Market Forces

Market Forces by Richard K. Morgan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

'Everything is about politics. Politics is everything. Everything in human society anyway.' Market Forces by Richard Morgan

A Brave New World of wild capitalism where venture fonds are openly financing civil wars in different parts of world and executives of firms literally fight for the contracts, killing each other in duels. A grim fascinating picture of a social distopia.

And I am home again
And my home city
Around me
Rests like my second skin
And mighty Dnipro
Like a sleeping giant
Under ice
And my heart's beating
In the rhythm
With His deep breaths

The Man in the High Castle

"One selfless act of love and hope. That's what I put my money on."

A brilliant adaptation of the famous novel by Philip K. Dick, which goes, at least in my opinion, far beyond the book itself, and in a good way. I think that the author himself would appreciate this reminder about the truth that even in the most perilous conditions it's crucial for us to stay the humans who draw their strength not in hatred but in Love. Merry Christmas, everyone!

P.S. Second season is even better than the first one. Looking forward for the third!
